This is how long we've had our little sweetie in our lives.
At her six month appointment she was:
15 pounds 15 ounces
25.8 inches long
The doc said she is WAY advanced for her age and he was truly amazed at how strong she was.
(Which made this mama very happy and extra proud of her little miss)
This girl is such a hoot. She truly is the sweetest thing. Not a day goes by that I don't just stare in amazement at this little piece of heaven, wondering how I got so lucky to be her mom. Strangers are constantly complimenting her and she returns their nice gestures with a grin that just melts your heart. Everyone jokes we need to change her name to beautiful or pretty because that's all she's ever called. She's rarely called Brikelle. It surprises me every time when I call her by name and she responds she is hardly ever called by that. Her nick names are beautiful, sweetie, turkey, B, sprinkle. I'm sure there are a thousand more things she gets called in a day, but those are the favs. She has slowly been letting strangers hold her. Mom has to be close by, and she only lasts about five minutes, but that's five minutes more than last month. So, I am so proud of her. She's growing up right before my eye's. Her cry is no longer a newborn cry, which I can't even remember when that changed. But it did, and it sort of breaks my heart. But then she gives me that cheesy grin and does a little giggle and I realize that change is amazing. As much as you miss the newborn, every stage she grows into is my "new favorite."Her daddy is still the only one who can make her laugh hysterically. I love to just sit back and watch those two play together. My heart grows every. single. time. they interact. I seriously couldn't have hand picked a better dad.. oh wait, I did ;) She luckily has his beautiful blue eyes, so I gaze into those on a daily basis and it only makes me love her that much more.
This girl is a SWEETHEART. She strokes my arm and face, then looks up at me with a gigantic smile, then goes back on her merry little way, drooling and puking all over. Those darn teeth keep teasing her, but I think they will pop up any day now. She has been a little fussy at times because of those teeth, but even through the tears she tries to smile. The best part of my entire day is when I hear her moving around in her crib. When I walk over to grab her she greets me with the biggest smile, like she's never been happier in her life to see someone.
We got a bouncer for her and it SAVES my life! I put her in that every morning while I shower and get ready, and she will last a good hour just bouncing around as happy as can be. The only downside of this is when she's out of the bouncer, she feels the need to jump CONSTANTLY! This girl can not sit still! People keep asking if she can sit up by herself, and I honestly don't know. There are moments where she will sit by herself, but then she rolls right onto her belly and scoots all the way across the floor. So I'm not sure if she can't hold herself there or if she simply doesn't want to.
We had her six months pictures done by Dash Photography on Monday and they were so much fun! I can't wait to get them back and drool over my girls big blue eye's and chubby cheeks. On a sadder note.. I bought my girl a GORGEOUS headband just for her six month b-day/picture gift. When I went to grab it out of my car, it was no where to be found. I called my husband in a panic just to find out he THREW IT AWAY! I spent $15 bucks on that thing, all for it to never be worn and end up in the trash. UGH I was VERY unhappy. Note to self: never spend that much money on a silly {but BEAUTIFUL} headband. OR just bring it inside so my cute husband doesn't have a chance to clean out my car and accidently throw it away..
This girl is in her 6-9 month clothes, still wearing size 2 diapers, and growing every minute. She is extremely curious and LOVES to people watch. She can army crawl all across the floor and does this constantly. B is starting to pull herself up on everything, then she tries to bounce and falls right over. She is still very observant with where she is and who she is with. It takes her a few times of meeting someone before she feels comfortable around them. But if I am holding her she is sure to give you a giant smile and act like you are best friends. But just so we are clear, I am her VERY best friend ;) She loves to give her mom open mouthed, slobbery kisses. I just sit and laugh, so she will giggle and then give me a few more slobbery lovers. She does this little high pitched squeal of joy that is HILARIOUS! I copy her and in return she gives me a louder, more excited squeal. We play this game of ours on a daily basis, and it never seems to get old.
She is Struggling big time with her sleeping skills. UGH what I wouldn't give to get a solid 8 hour night of sleep with no interruptions. I'm hoping once these teeth come in she will be back to normal. Because I have tried EVERYTHING! All the moms tell me to get used to it because it never seems to get better, but I seriously hope that is not true. She is also starting to sleep in the most awkward of positions. Her face is always smashed up against something and she looks oh so uncomfortable. I learned the hard way to not move her and to just let her be.
I'm so very grateful for this bundle of joy in my life. I love every minute I get to spend with her, because when I'm not by her I feel like I might miss something spectacular since she is learning and growing so quickly. It makes me weepy when I think of how quickly the last six months have gone or how much she has grown and developed. Someone PLEASE put life on pause for a minute.
Thank you for coming into our home little miss, we love and cherish every minute with you. You are a beautiful girl inside and out with an extraordinary personality. I cannot wait to see how much you blossom in the six months to come. Thanks for letting me be your mom and experiencing more joy than I could have ever imagined. Love you Baby B.
Love, Mom
