4 Months Old

Can you believe this sweetie pie of mine is 4 months? Of course you can. I just did a post about her being 3 months. And you better believe I'll be doing posts all the way up to her 1 year mark. And probably some more after that.. Can you blame me? They truly grow and change so fast, you almost have to do these posts to keep up with all their new tricks and such. We went to the doctor earlier this week.
Weight: 14 pounds 6 ounces
Height:
She is in size 2 diapers, but not for long. She has almost grown out of most of her 3 month clothes and it on to her 3-6 month stuff. I went to put her shoes on the other day, only to find she has grown out of 3 pairs of her shoes. Sad day. Pretty sure she only wore each pair one time. This child is growing like a weed.
She's also doing both breast feeding and bottles which is so great. It's nice that we can be out and about and she'll take a bottle, but when we need to nurse she will nurse. Not only is this gal growing, but her fingernails are RIDICULOUS! I kid you not, I cut them almost every 3 days because they grow so darn fast! And before I know it she has battle wounds all over her face from those nails of hers.

Brikelle ALWAYS has something in her mouth. Whether it's her thumb, her entire first, my finger, blankets, dad's hairy arm, toys. The Doctor says her teeth are right up there and should be poking through in the next month or two. I think they are coming soon. She used to just slobber and be a little wet, but now she full on drools and soaks through her outfits in ten minutes flat. I need to start putting a bib on her so we don't go through so much laundry!

She LOVES her tubby time still. We bought her a little chair because that little fish of mine was getting too big for mom to hold. On another note, she absolutely HATES getting dressed. I should take a video of it because she is SO dramatic. She acts like we are ripping her arms and legs off while we're trying to get them inside her little shirt and pants. Whoa. Then the second she is dressed she's back to all smiles.

The doc said she is extremely healthy and VERY strong. He also said she's a  very mellow baby compared to most. {My husband and I knew better, she had this doctor fooled big time} Her shots weren't horrible. She was smiley and happy and then BAM. The nurses stuck her at the same time in both legs and she was NOT happy. I wonder if this is why she dislikes strangers because she associates them with her shots. {That's the only thing I can think of}Or she just likes to be dramatic. That's the best word to describe her these days is just that. Adorable, but dramatic.

She likes strangers from a distance still and ALWAYS smiles. But the second you try to pick her up and hold her, she gets MAD! And by mad I mean, screaming, turning red and not stopping until her mom or dad takes her and calms her down. It's quite a sight. We went to Boise a couple weekends ago and my poor sister couldn't even hold her all weekend. We caught it on video so we can show her how she acted when she grows up.
This girly has found her toes. She could sit and play with her toes for hours! Alright, maybe only ten minutes. But still, it's adorable! She's also tried bananas, and she loves them! She doesn't talk a lot during the day, but every night around ten she likes to tell mom and dad all about her day. It's too cute to make her go to sleep so we usually sit and are entertained by her for a good half hour. She can roll from her back to her stomach no problem. And she rolls almost all the way from her back to her tummy, she could do it if she wanted but she enjoys hanging out on her side. Brikelle is starting to scoot. As happy as I am,  it also makes me so sad knowing she will be crawling and walking in no time. I seriously put her on her tummy and the next thing I know she's almost done a 180 turn and is on her back in a whole new direction.
She is VERY observant. She knows exactly who's holding her, she knows if she's in her own house. And if she's not, she will  sit and look all around her to try and figure out where she is. Brikelle is also a VERY light sleeper. Everything and anything will jolt her awake. Sometimes she even twitches and she wakes herself up. She is already trying to sit by herself and she still loves to walk around with you holding her arms. She is a very coordinated baby. And every person that holds her comments on how strong she is.
I love this little thing more and more every single day. And it amazes me at how active she is compared to three months ago when she was born. She's going to be a very strong willed, wild child! And I for one, cannot wait! She already keeps us on our toes and entertains us constantly. She sure knows how to hold the attention of those around her. Whether it's screaming at the top of her lungs, or smiling and cooing and melting the hearts of those around her.
Love you baby B and I am SO proud of how smart and strong you already are.
Keep it up kiddo..
Love,
MOM
