Berlyn's Blessing Day

August 31st 2014 was a very special day for our little
Berlyn Elsie Rowbury

Boy was she the start of the show that day... We got to the church and sat fairly close to the front and tried to save enough seats for all of our friends and family. The second we sat down she started screaming!! Not just a little shy cry, it was a boisterous loud cry for the entire congregation to hear. NOTHING I did could make her calm down. I fed her RIGHT before I left so I knew she wasn't hungry, but I was moments away from getting up to go feed her and then they started Sacrament meeting... Everyone in the room was looking at me and my screaming baby, which made me feel even worse.. Then came blessing time. Yep, dad took her and she was screaming even louder now. I am not even kidding when I tell you that THEE VERY SECOND Mitch started speaking she was absolutely quiet. Not a single peep. Both my dad and Mitch said she was fixated on something (or someone) above all the wonderful men that were standing in her circle for her blessing. The tears just wouldn't stop coming. I'm not sure if they were stress tears, grateful tears, or just plain tears, maybe a combination of all three, but boy it was sure a beautiful blessing for my baby girl. I'm also not even kidding when I tell you that the very second Mitch said amen she started right back up with the screaming! I think she just wanted every person in the room to know she was there, and boy did she succeed. We spent the next little bit in the mothers lounge trying to get her to calm down. Then she slept like a baby the rest of the meeting. We had such an amazing turnout with friends and family that traveled near and far to celebrate my sweet Berlyn. We ate dutch oven chicken and potatoes and loads of yummy food. But my favorite part of the entire day was just looking around my living room, seeing all the wonderful faces of my friends and family knowing how supported and loved my little one is. What a blessing on such a beautiful blessing day..
