First things first. Brikelle took THREE steps yesterday on her 8 monthiversary.
She let's go with both hands, then freaks out when she realizes she's not holding on to anything. I've tried practicing with her to take a few steps, but she only wants to do it when SHE wants to do it.Which pretty much sums up her entire personality. She does things on her own terms, not for anyone else. If you ask her to do something, she won't. Once you stop asking, she decides to do it. Cracks me up.

The past two weeks my girl has not been feeling the best. She came home from my mother in laws with a very runny nose. I just assumed those teeth were finally deciding to make their debut. But instead, her runny nose turned into a little cough. Then her little cough turned into a raspy voice. And all of this lead for a VERY cuddly girl. She would literally sit on my lap and not move. THIS. NEVER. HAPPENS. And every time I tried to put her down she would crawl right back over to mom and reach for me to pick her up. I knew she wasn't feeling great, but she was still eating and overall a happy girl. I hesitated taking her to the Dr. office because I heard zillions of sick kids were there, and I didn't want her to pick up on something and get even MORE sick. But, after a week of a runny nose, a little cough, and a quick call to our Doc we decided to take her in. Her RSV test came back negative which was great. He said she just had a little mucous in her bronchioles that she just could shake. So he gave her some stuff to help clear it up.

She must have known she turned 8 months yesterday because this girl was back to my happy little sweetie. She was giggling, babbling, and So very sweet all day long.
She even smiled into my phone while I was taking her picture.
She is still in size 2 diapers. Still nursing like a champ. And as embarrassed as I am to admit this, she is still sleeping next to us in her pack-n-play. Mitch and I keep saying, "next week we'll put her in her big girl crib." But when it comes down to it, we both will miss her too much. She's still waking up around 6-7 ish so it's SO nice just to reach over and grab her, feed her and put her right back to sleep for a few more hours. We are ridiculous, I know. How can you miss your baby when she is down the hallway. Maybe next month we'll JUST DO IT and put her in her big girl crib. I'll keep ya posted. She's grown out of a lot of her 6 mo clothes and is in her 9 mo clothes already. When we went to the Doc's office she was 17 pounds 6 ounces. SEVENTEEN POUNDS! This girl is getting HEAVY! She's an extremely good eater and eats pretty much everything and anything. She still loves her nightly tubbies and is now starting to tolerate her mom singing her primary songs before bed.
She LOVES helping mom on the computer. We now have six buttons missing from our keyboard, and I'm sure more to follow. She also loves moms cell phone. She's starting this thing when she gets so excited she starts bouncing so fast that it makes her fall over. She giggles every time I pretend to eat her fingers and toes. And as much as it breaks my heart to admit this, she said dada first. And continues to say dadadadadadada all day long. She only says mama when she's crying or needs something. But every other moment is dadadadada. I say, "NO, MAMAMA" and she just laughs and keeps saying dada. It's still pretty cute, even if it's the WRONG WORD! Luckily I get all the kisses, while dad gets none. So I'll take those open mouth slobbers any day of the week over being called mama. She talks to mom every time we are in the car, and when she stops talking I know she's fallen asleep. She's been sleeping AMAZING lately and it makes this mom super happy.
This girl is incredible. She picks up on things so fast it's unbelievable to me. She's turned into quite the little people person. Such a ham. Is it bad that I'm sorta glad she wasn't feeling well, because it put her walking/standing on hold for a week. I'm afraid she would have been walking by now if she hadn't gotten sick. But she's right back at it, so it's only a matter of time. UGH.
Naughty grandpa giving her ice cream
Standing is not good enough anymore, she now climbs on EVERYTHING!
I know that the second I'm done with this post I'll think of a zillion more adorable things that she does on a daily basis, but I will spare you and end this never ending post right now. Bottom line, we love our girl to the moon and back.We think she is the most perfect thing that has ever been created. She amazes us on a daily basis, and continues to make us smile. She is our entire world and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Love you little miss.
