Conference weekend has always been, well, somewhat of a disaster for Mitch and I. It's ranged from standing in line in the freezing cold for tickets and making it to the door with only three people ahead of us and NOT getting in, or pouring rain while waiting outside, unable to find a parking spot, need I continue?? I was a little apprehensive when Mitch said he wanted to try and get tickets to conference this year. But our friends had a couple of extra tickets for the Saturday afternoon session, so I thought I'd give it another chance. We got to Salt Lake around 11:00 yesterday morning and found the perfect parking place! (And by perfect I mean extra close so this pregnant lady doesn't have to walk too far) We stopped and said hello to my aunt and uncle before we met Bruce and Chrissy for our tickets. We waited on Temple Square in the most BEAUTIFUL weather! The sun was shining and the first session of conference was playing over the speakers throughout Temple Square. All while holding the hand of my favorite person, with the other hand on my belly, feeling our squirmy baby girl. We ate lunch at the Nauvoo Restaurant outside on the picnic tables. Then we slowly wandered into the conference center to get a seat. The speakers were amazing and the spirit was so strong. I love being in the presence of so many inspiring people. After two very uplifting hours of conference, we met my brother at the new City Creek Center mall and wandered around there for a while. He soon had to leave back to Idaho and so I started to head back to our car. But this perfect day gets even better. My husband said we needed to hang around for a little bit longer because he had reservations for us at The Roof Restaurant on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Building. Boy do I love that kid. We had a fabulous evening staring out the window at the beautiful Temple and across the Salt Lake Valley. We decided from here on out we will ONLY attend Saturday's conference instead of Sunday, because every time we have tried to go on Sunday it ends badly. But yesterday couldn't have been more perfect. Especially since we won't be able to do spontaneous things like that for very much longer. I loved every second I got to spend with that boy of mine and am so grateful for him. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Conference Weekend, and have enjoyed listening and being spiritually uplifted by the amazing leaders of our church. It's amazing how they always say exactly what I need to hear.
